As a managing director based in Houston, Gary Barton focuses on client service, specializes in both in-court and out-of-court restructurings, and provides interim management services by serving in roles such as chief restructuring officer.

Background

With more than 30 years of restructuring and interim management experience, Gary specializes in providing leadership to companies and creditor constituencies in restructuring, turnaround and insolvency situations.

Gary’s primary areas of expertise include in- and out-of-court financial and operational restructurings, interim management positions at the c-suite level, business plan development and implementation, debtor and lender negotiations, liquidity management, vendor negotiations, development of financial planning and reporting functions, and development and negotiation of out-of-court and in-court plans of reorganization.

He brings experience across a wide range of the energy industry including oil and gas exploration and production, oil field services, refining and power. He has been involved in numerous engagements over his 30-year career as either financial advisor to a debtor or lender, as well as in various interim management roles including chief restructuring officer, chief financial officer, and treasurer.
