As a managing director, Mike Funkey is responsible for strategy and leadership in the National Private Equity practice with a focus on sales, relationship development, and account management.

Background

Mike Funkey has over 20 years of experience accelerating sales growth, leading transformational change, and growing capabilities across complex, global organizations. He has worked with numerous private and public companies in a variety of industries including accounting, finance, manufacturing, distribution, technology, and telecommunications. Prior to joining Riveron, Mike held a National Key Account leadership role with Grant Thornton and led account strategy, relationship development, and sales for several growing global clients. As a fierce collaborator, Mike takes pride in building strategic vision and solutions that solve complex problems and deliver dynamic gains in revenue, profit, and competitive position for his clients.

Mike has been active in civic and community organizations and has served on the boards of The Children’s Place, Associations for Corporate Growth, and Financial Executives International. He is a 2013 graduate of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Centurions Leadership program. At home, Mike can be found in the kitchen cooking for his family, exploring gravel trails on his bike, or working to demystify the guitar fretboard. Mike and his wife, Lori, live in Prairie Village, Kansas with their two teenage daughters.
