Acquisition Integration and Optimization for an ERP solution
Challenge
A growing food manufacturer needed to assimilate a newly acquired entity into their existing D365 F&SCM legal entity. The organization was unsure of the stability of the existing solution within the D365 F&SCM platform and needed reassurance that the new entity could be absorbed into the existing solution without negative impact to business process. The main goal was to onboard the new entity with little to no change to the existing platform, if able, and then to optimize the solution to gain efficiencies through better use of the application.
Riveron was engaged to analyze the existing platform, design and execute the strategy to bring the new acquisition into the environment, and then design and implement the optimization items uncovered during the analysis.
How Riveron helped
Riveron was engaged to analyze the existing platform, design and execute the strategy to bring the new acquisition into the environment, and then design and implement the optimization items uncovered during the analysis.
Our team:
- Analyzed the current-state processes, applications, and infrastructure, and outlined optimization opportunities to gain efficiencies through further use of the product
- Designed and executed a cutover strategy for the newly acquired entity data into the D365 F&SCM platform
- Outlined and executed a roadmap to optimize the solution for the newly combined entity
Results
After integrating the new acquisition into their existing systems and operations, and further optimizing the platform to bolster continued growth, the manufacturer witnessed a considerable enhancement in their business management capabilities. One significant advantage was the establishment of a unified system that now supports every facet of the business across all its units. This integrated approach also ensured that consistent business processes were adopted across all warehouses and business divisions. The implementation of handheld devices streamlined warehouse operations, enabling efficiency across all warehousing tasks. Additionally, the manufacturer benefitted from a more automated pricing structure, which not only enhanced accuracy but also became easier to maintain and adjust as needed.
