Nick Pastushan

As an executive director, Nick brings deep aviation and financing executive expertise to the Conway MacKenzie team.

As the COVID pandemic caused air travel to drop by 90%, it became clear that the whole aviation ecosytem would face restructuring, recapitalization, and resizing requirements. Teaming up with Conway MacKenzie brings deep aviation and finance expertise, plus a large team of restructuring experts to address the massive changes to the industry.

Nicholas has over 20 years of experience as an investor, chief investment officer, and chief credit and risk officer in large ticket leasing, lending, and investing in the aviation and transportation sectors. He has been involved in many major airline restructurings, M&A transactions, and financings resulting from major world events including 9/11, the Iraq War, SARS, and the global financial crisis of 2008. In addition to his role at Conway MacKenzie, Pastushan is CEO of Warbird Capital, a private investment and advisory firm that offers a full range of customized leasing, lending, and equity solutions. Prior to Warbird Capital, he served as chief investment officer of CIT Group’s $20 billion Transportation Finance segment. In this role, he was chair of the Transportation Finance Credit Committee, which held all transaction approval authority for the segment. Before that, he was vice president of portfolio management and director of industry research at GECAS, the world’s largest aircraft lessor.
