As a Managing Director based in Atlanta, Geoff Tirone is responsible for client service, specializing in Buy Side Diligence, Sell Side Diligence, and Opening Balance Sheet Accounting.
Geoff’s 22 years of experience prior to Riveron include progressive roles providing public accounting and consulting services to both public and private companies as well as operational experience serving as the Chief Financial Officer of two private equity-backed companies. Throughout his career, he has served a variety of industries including financial services, retail, technology and energy.
Through a combination of consulting and corporate experience, he has a unique understanding of how to address client needs and managing project teams simultaneously. With his experience as a Chief Financial Officer of private equity-backed companies, Geoff has a strong understanding of the needs of companies that are experiencing significant growth or going through a transitional stage such as a divestiture, add-on acquisition or a restructuring process. While he does not practice accounting at Riveron, he has a strong knowledge of technical accounting, internal and external financial reporting, purchase accounting, deal advisory and accounting policy and procedures. Geoff has extensive experience working with both private equity and strategic/corporate clients.
Geoff is a native of Ohio, but has been in the Atlanta market for the majority of his professional career. Prior to joining Riveron, Geoff served as the Chief Financial Officer for two private equity-backed companies, and he also previously served as a Director in the Transaction Services group at PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a Senior Manager in the Audit practice at KPMG. He lives in Alpharetta with his wife, Jody, and their two children, Nicklaus and Evan. Outside of work, Geoff enjoys golfing, watching his boys play lacrosse and basketball and supporting The Ohio State Buckeyes.
