As a managing director, Didier Siffer is responsible for leading the strategic advisory of financial institutions and corporate clients in complex in-court and out-of-court restructurings in the US, Canada, and Latin America.
With more than 30 years of international restructuring and risk management experience, Didier specializes in providing leadership to creditor constituencies and to companies in complex restructuring, turnaround and insolvency situations.
His primary areas of expertise are out-of-court and in-court restructurings (Chapter 11 including 363 sales, CCAA proceedings in Canada, as well as bankruptcy court proceedings in Latin America), syndicated loan leverage finance, structured products, and derivatives products workouts. He expertly leads complex distressed company recapitalizations. He brings experience in analyzing, communicating and implementing multifaceted recovery and restructuring strategies, risk assessment and mitigation, distressed capital markets transactions including DIP financings, litigation assessments/strategies, enterprise valuations and extensive interaction with all stakeholders.
He is a trusted partner and skilled negotiator known for diplomacy in difficult situations, and with a drive to develop practical solutions. He has served on multiple creditors’ committee assignments and in director roles.
Prior to joining Riveron, Didier was a managing director for Credit Suisse’s recovery management group in New York, as well as a director in Credit Suisse’s commercial banking and recovery management unit in Switzerland.
