Tax Advisory – Director – Federal

As a Team Member, You Will:

  • Lead special projects in specific technical areas such as tax basis balance sheets, valuation allowances, uncertain tax positions, indefinitely reinvested earnings assertions, outside basis differences, intra-period tax allocations, and share-based payments
  • Manage tax provision preparation for quarterly and annual reporting for both SEC registrants and private entities
  • Advise clients on tax accounting aspects of complex transactions, including IPO readiness, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate restructurings, restatements, and post-bankruptcy fresh start accounting
  • Design and review clients’ tax accounting processes and internal controls to assess and mitigate risk and identify remediation actions;
  • Build client relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of client businesses
  • Conduct day-to-day management of engagements to ensure delivery of timely and accurate work product
  • Develop, supervise, mentor, and motivate the federal tax service offering team by actively participating in their advancement through on-the-job training, providing performance feedback, counseling, and fostering a team-based atmosphere
  • Develop business and brand
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities to staff
  • Note: Riveron does not engage in tax compliance services
  • Your Experience Includes:

  • Bachelor or Master’s in Accounting or Taxation
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in ASC 740 income tax accounting, federal tax provisions and consulting
  • Experience as a Tax Director or Sr. Manager in a public accounting firm preferred
  • Proven, excellent, communication skills with management and clients are required
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office Products (with an emphasis on Excel) and research software preferred
